Hilary Farrow is a mature student with the Open College of the Arts. Married with two sons and one grandson, she has an eye for the whimsical.
This is her second exhibition and it marks the end of her degree studies. Now retired, in her working life, as an administrator and an Early Years Practitioner, she was constantly looking at small details, finding humour in the whimsical, and answering questions from young children which made an adult think hard. This has carried over into her photographic practice and she finds that her attention is drawn to the things that might be missed by a casual observer.
Border or Barrier came about from such a question. Is the white line in the middle of the road a Border or a Barrier? The exhibition is a collection of observational photographs that all ask the same question.
